Space Caravan is a Brussels (BE)- based studio specializing in exhibition design, scenography, and architectonics. The research-driven practice aims to unlock a space’s potential for powerful and beautiful narratives. Space Caravan works with and for cultural institutions, galleries, architects, artists, and curators and offers a complete service from concept design to execution. This includes spatial design, project management, graphic design, catalogs, artist books, photography, curatorial work, and writing.
Space Caravan was founded by artist-architect Cédric Van Parys, but as a collaborative studio, it takes on projects with partners to offer each client the best possible service. Some of these long-term collaborators are The Exercises (Graphic Design), DROM (Architects), Riccardo De Vecchi (Photographer and filmmaker), Sobinco (Complex metal and aluminum productions), Doornekamp Woodspecials (complex wood productions), Bavo Gladiné (Coordinating construction) and Vincent Huyghe (Robotics, manufacturing and technology).
About the Founder
Cédric Van Parys holds a Master’s in Architecture from Sint-Lucas Ghent and followed Creative Practice for Narrative Environments at Central-Saint-Martins, London. Before setting up Space Caravan, he worked as an architect and researcher at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam, often working alongside Rem Koolhaas. Cédric was mostly active within AMO, the research branch of OMA, where he developed research projects, exhibitions, and scenographies.
